Miniature Book Museum / a Guinness World Records Certificate holder

I realized that I haven't written anything about the Miniature Book Museum yet. Funny thing is that many people who live in Baku don't even have a clue about the existence of this museum. Located in the old city, this museum exhibits Zarifa Salakhova's (sister of Tahir Salakhov, a well known artist) miniature books collection from around the world. It is a vast collection of books with various topics (fiction, literature, politics, poetry, religion and etc). In 2014, her museum got a Guinness World Records Certificate for being the biggest private miniature book collection in the world. Museum exhibits 2913 books although her collection is believed to consist of more that 6500. I definitely recommend anybody passing nearby the old city to take some time and visit this place. It is definitely a unique experience.

Work hours of this museum are: 11 am to 7 pm (Mondays and Thursdays - closed) and the admission is free. It is located in the old city, on the path leading from Icheri Sheher subway station to Shirvanshahs' Palace. Below you can find some photos I took recently and also a map showing location of the museum. Please point the mouse arrow on the photos to see descriptions.
